Because Triad Chart uses the proper BaZi (Four Pillars) tradition, and BaZi uses a different calendar than the popular Chinese Zodiac you’ll see on most placemats, horoscope sites, and apps.

BaZi’s year boundary is Lichun (立春), “Beginning of Spring” — a solar event that falls around February 4 or 5 every year. Popular Chinese Zodiac uses the Lunar New Year, which falls anywhere from late January to mid-February depending on the year.

These two dates don’t match. If you were born in early February — particularly between Feb 4 and the Lunar New Year of your birth year — BaZi will assign you the incoming animal while popular sources assign you the outgoing one. Both are right inside their own systems. BaZi is just the more astronomically rigorous one, which is why we use it.

Example: someone born February 11, 1969 is a Rooster in BaZi (Lichun was Feb 4) but a Monkey in popular zodiac (Lunar New Year was Feb 17). The chart isn’t wrong — the two calendars just disagree for that 9-day window.

All three tiers use the same calculation engine. The depth of interpretation grows with the tier.

After your reading is delivered, you can ask Deeper Dive Questions about anything in it. The program has full access to your chart and your reading, so answers are grounded in your specific data, not generic astrology talk.

Tier 2 (Floorplan) includes 5 Deeper Dive Questions. Tier 3 (Master Blueprint) includes 10. Tier 1 (Framing) doesn’t include any, but anyone can buy additional Deeper Dive Questions for $2.99 each.

You’ll still get a meaningful reading. A handful of chart features depend on the exact time of birth, but the majority do not.

Unaffected by birth time (always accurate from date alone): all of Numerology, your Sun sign, Moon sign, all planetary placements, and your Year / Month / Day Pillars and Day Master in Bazi. This is the bulk of every reading.

Affected by birth time: Rising sign (changes every ~2 hours), House placements, Midheaven (used in Career Ceiling), and the Bazi Hour Pillar.

On the chart form, check the box labeled “I don’t know my exact birth time.” Your reading will explicitly exclude the time-sensitive sections rather than fabricate them on a guess. Same price; honest output.

Astronomically exact. We use the Swiss Ephemeris, the same astronomical engine professional astrologers and observatories use to compute planetary positions to the second. No estimates, no lookups, no precomputed tables.

Numerology and BaZi are also done from first principles, not from a database of pre-written interpretations. The math is the math. The interpretation layer is custom-generated for your specific chart, not pulled from a template.

Yes. Your birth name, date, time, and place are stored only to deliver your reading and any questions you ask. We do not sell, share, or market your information. Payment is processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.

A few minutes. Once payment is confirmed, your chart is calculated and the interpretation generated in roughly 30–90 seconds, then emailed to you immediately. If anything takes longer than 5 minutes, email support@thetriadchart.com.
